1. What is the difference between different motors?
Motors are a source of vibration for mobile phones. There are two main types: one is the Eccentric rotating mass, and the other is the Linear resonant actuator. Among them, linear motors are divided into Z-axis linear motors and X-axis linear motors. The rotor motor is similar to the motor used in the four-wheel drive that we played when we were young. The principle is very simple, that is, a small motor drives the eccentric rotor to rotate, thereby generating vibration. It has a simple structure and small size
A linear motor is similar to a pile driver and consists of a stator and a mover. The stator is made up of coils and FPC, and the mover is made up of masses and magnets. The energized coil is subjected to the Lorentz force in the magnetic field, which drives the mover to reciprocate in a fixed direction to generate vibration. The frequency of the movement depends on the frequency of the driving signal. The linear motor has fast response speed, strong vibration sense, vibration direction, and adjustable vibration frequency and waveform, so it can achieve more complex and customized vibration effects. The Z-axis linear motor is also called a circular linear motor. The motor moves in the vertical Z-axis direction, and the vibration stroke is relatively short. The X-axis linear motor is also called rectangular or horizontal linear motor, which can achieve a longer stroke and long acceleration time, so the vibration feeling is stronger than that of the Z-axis linear motor, and the performance is optimal.
Linear motors and rotor motors are not only different in structure, but also in driving schemes. The linear drive chip can output a peak voltage of up to 10V. Under high-voltage drive, it can further shorten the start-stop time and increase the vibration intensity. Dozens of built-in vibration waveforms in the drive chip can be matched with audio decoders to achieve audio follow-up vibration. Through the later experience optimization, accurate and targeted vibration feedback can be realized in a variety of scenarios. The rotor motor neither supports high-voltage drive output, nor does it support built-in drive waveforms.
Comparison of linear motor and rotor motor drive schemes focuses on: X-axis linear motor> Z-axis linear motor> Rotor motor> Flat rotor motor
It seems thatcoin motor is the last choice for mobile phone, but it is in lower price and very small,we still use it for other vibrating device.
All the information shows that you can choose the best solution for your electronic design.
linear motor or Eccentric motor ,it depend your detail market and design.
